In 1992, Stephen Mehler met Egyptologist and indigenous wisdom keeper Abd'El Hakim Awyan in Egypt. After further trips to Egypt to work in the field with Hakim in 1997, 1998 and twice in 1999, Stephen wrote his first book, The Land Of Osiris, published in 2001. Stephen and Hakim have redefined the field as Khemitology, not Egyptology. Further work with Hakim in Egypt in 2003 and 2004 have resulted in Stephen's latest book, From Light Into mehler_book.jpg (17303 bytes) Darkness: The Evolution Of Religion In Ancient Egypt, published by Adventures Unlimited Press. Stephen is currently Director of Research for the Great Pyramid of Giza Research Association.

Stephen Mehler's fascination with ancient Egypt, which began at the age of eight, has guided his education and spiritual work all his life. Born and raised in New York City, Stephen received a BA in Physiology and Anatomy from Hunter College of the City University of New York. Stephen also holds two Masters Degrees, in Natural Sciences and in Social Sciences, with an emphasis in Egyptology, both from San Jose State University in California. Pursuing metaphysical as well as scientific truth, Stephen worked as a Staff Research Scientist for the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC from 1978-1980.

Stephen is a Squire in The International Order of Gnostic Templars, one of the few spiritual Knights Templar orders on the planet today. The Order is dedicated to the revival of Gnostic Wisdom and the Goddess Tradition, as practiced by the original Knights Templars of the Middle Ages.

Stephen has been a Speaker with Body Mind Spirit Journeys on our Sacred Journeys to Egypt for several years. He resides in Lafayette, CO with his wife, Theresa Crater author of the newly released sensational novel about Egypt, Beneath the Stone Paw, and their kitty children.
