Andrea Mikana Pinkham is the Director of the Sacred Journeys division of Body Mind Spirit Journeys. She is a Lady Knight Templar and the North American Grand Prioress of The International Order of Gnostic Templars, a modern-day spiritual Templar Order dedicated to the revival of the Goddess Tradition and Gnostic Wisdom.

Day 1. Sunday, July 20. Arrive London, To Glastonbury, Group Meeting, Welcome Dinner (D)
IMPORTANT: This Sacred Journey is a LAND ONLY package. You are responsible to book your round-trip international air to London's Gatwick Airport. Please arrive by 11:00AM in order to connect with our group departure from the airport at noon. Upon arrival clear Immigration, claim your bags and exit through customs.

Meet Tour Hosts/Speakers Andrea and Mark Pinkham at Gatwick Airport in London (full details to be announced in the final tour itinerary sent to you 2 weeks to 10 days before the tour). We board our motor coach for our drive out of London's hustle and bustle through the English countryside to mystical Glastonbury - fabled Avalon, the heart of the Grail myths, the "Eden" of the Druids, and, the region steeped in Arthurian legend. For centuries it has been the gathering place for those following the ancient Druid and Celtic traditions, as well as one of the holiest places in Christendom. It was the inspiration for the best-selling novel The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, as well as the television movie of the same name.

The Goddess is definitely alive in Glastonbury! In the sacred landscape Her body is the soft rounded hills. Her love will whisper to your heart and be your source and inspiration as it enfolds you during your time here. The small town of Glastonbury still preserves its long history and rich traditions, along with a uniquely blended atmosphere of modern times. People are pulled here from all over the world by a special something...just like you have been.

We arrive at our charming local Bed and Breakfast owned by one of the local Priestesses of Avalon. Time for a bit of a rest.

Introductory Group Meeting/ Sharing Circle: In the later afternoon we meet with Andrea, Mark and the group to get to know each other a bit by sharing our stories of how and why we've come to be here. Mark will offer a short introduction to Glastonbury and her myths and legends, in preparation for our time here during the coming week. Andrea will facilitate a group meditation to assist you to begin to connect with these powerful energies. We then enjoy our Welcome Dinner at our B and B. Overnight Glastonbury.

Day 2. Monday, July 21. Avebury World Heritage Site
and possible Crop Circles (B)
After breakfast we're off to begin to explore and experience the local sacred sites and ancient mysteries! First stop is at Avebury World Heritage site, one of the world's largest and most complex monuments of the Megalithic Age. Avebury is part of a wider Neolithic landscape that includes: West Kennet Avenue, an 'avenue', originally of around 100 pairs of prehistoric standing stones, raised to form a winding 11/2 mile ritual link between the pre-existing monuments of Avebury and The Sanctuary; The Sanctuary, and Silbury Hill. This extraordinary assemblage of sites formed a huge sacred landscape, whose use and purpose can still only be guessed at.

We begin our exploration of the area at the enormous earthwork of circles in Avebury, an ancient Druidic initiation site of immense standing stones. Two stone avenues of about 100 megaliths run out from Avebury. Today its mysteries are still being explored and solved by multi-disciplinary scholars in archaeology, science and ancient religion. As there are lunar and solar ley-lines that cross in this area, we will connect with these powerful energies in meditation to balance our own masculine and feminine energies.

Then we continue to another part of the World Heritage Site, the huge and mysterious Silbury Hill, a grass-covered man-made chalk mound that is the biggest prehistoric artificial mound in Europe. Evidence from radiocarbon dating indicates that Silbury was constructed about 4,400 years ago in the Neolithic period, at the end of Avebury's lengthy stone-building period. It stands 98 ft. high and is about 525 ft. wide. Its construction is estimated to have involved roughly 4 million man-hours of work (every man, woman and child in Britain today could together build such a mound if they each contributed one bucketful of earth); 500,000 tons of material were used, mostly chalk, quarried and cleared from the surrounding terraces and ditches.                                          Photo Credit: English Heritage

Some people see the Hill as a symbolic effigy of the ancient Mother Goddess that was associated with fertility rituals which marked the course of the year. The festival of Lammas in August, when it is thought Silbury was founded, celebrates the first fruits of the harvest. The spring which rises five hundred yards south of the hill and is the source of the River Kennet, was formerly called the Cunnit, a name which may be connected to the Mother Goddess and fertility.

Silbury Hill has a connection with the Great Pyramid of Egypt. The Hill has an angle of slope of 30 degrees and lies close to latitude 51 degrees 51 minutes. The Great Pyramid which has an angle of slope of 51 degrees 51 minutes and lies on a latitude of 30 degrees. What does this connection mean?

Some astronomers believe that Silbury Hill could have been used as an accurate solar observatory by means of the shadows cast by the mound itself on the carefully leveled plain to the north, towards Avebury. The meridian line from Silbury runs through Avebury church which stands on a ley line running between Stonehenge and the stone circle at Winterbourne Abbas. The same ley line also passes through two churches and the eastern slope of Silbury. Silbury is a center for alignments of straight prehistoric tracks, resurfaced by the Romans, and of standing stones. Author John Michell makes the following observations: "In view of the fact that in China mounds like that at Silbury were erected upon lung-mei, the paths of the dragon, there is good reason to suspect that Silbury itself was sited by Pre-Celtic Druids on a dragon line with the assistance of a geomancer's compass. It may also be inferred that the Chinese lung-mei stretch over the entire globe. Many centres of English dragon legend stand at the junction of well-marked leys, one notable long-distance example being the St Michael's line that runs from the Avebury circle to the extreme west of Cornwall." (The View over Atlantis, 1983)

There have been numerous UFO sightings in the area over the years, as well as crop circle formations near it. We will explore some of these strange phenomena this afternoon.

Lunch on your own with the group at The Barge, a popular local gathering place for "Croppies", those that follow the yearly appearance of crop circles, geometric symbols of unknown origin formed in fields of grain that have appeared in this area over the past 20 years. After lunch, you can take a look at the networking area that often has photos of the newly formed circles.

Then we're off to look for some of them! The county of Wiltshire is one of the most active areas for crop circles in the world, particularly around the historical stones of Avebury and Silbury Hill. In this ancient landscape, the grassy whorls take over the fields of rape, barley and wheat like massive installation art. If we are fortunate we may be able to enter one or more of the formations and have private meditation time to try to connect with and experience the other-dimensional energies that many researchers believe form them. What is the general communication that is being given to us by these circles? What is the particular communication from each circle? Where do they come from? Who/what forms them? Why here? Why now? AND, why have we been lead here to experience them? What does all this mean for our personal and planetary transformation?

Later return to our B and B. Dinner on your own. There are several excellent restaurants in the center of town, just a few minutes walk away, that offer varied ethnic cuisines. Overnight Glastonbury.

Day 3. Tuesday, July 22. Sharing Circle; Group Meeting: Divine Feminine & The Holy Grail Lecture with Mark Pinkham, Guided Meditation with Andrea Pinkham, Meeting with author Nicholas Mann; Afternoon Free; Evening Stonehenge Private Entrance! (B)

Take some time to rest this morning and sleep in a bit. After breakfast sit out in the garden for a bit of sun and time for meditation and reflection before our Sharing Circle facilitated by Andrea and Mark.

Afterwards Mark will present information about the Divine Feminine and Holy Grail, followed by guided meditation with Andrea to connect with the Divine Feminine.

Afterwards we'll be blessed by a visit with Mark’s former roommate in Sedona in the late 80’s, author Nicholas Mann. He will present a short lecture " The Mysteries of Avalon", which will include exciting material about the nature and function of this ancient sacred site, as well as his latest research about the Sun, Moon and star alignments of the Isle, especially their relevance to the current aeonic shift. You will be able to purchase his books from him, and have him sign them for you, so save some GBP’s for this.

Then you have free time for lunch on your own and an afternoon of exploration in town. Here are some options:
1. Stop in at the Glastonbury Goddess Temple and meditate at the Flame of Avalon.

2. Take a walk to visit Gog and Magog, two ancient oak trees in Wick Hollow thought by some of the locals to be the root chakra of the area. Others honor them as the last remains of a Druidical avenue leading up to the Tor.

3. Go into St. John's Church in the heart of town, dedicated to John the Baptist, one of the original teachers of the Goddess Tradition. Here you can view the beautiful stained glass window depicting Joseph of Arimathea holding two vials of "Holy Grail."

4. Visit Wearyall Hill, an elongated low hill that lies to the southwest of the town. One legend says that it is here that Joseph of Arimathea is said to have placed his staff in the ground when he landed all-weary from his journey from the Holy Land. His staff sprouted and became the Holy Thorn, the descendants of which still blossom today at Christmas.

5. Or wander along High and Magdalene Streets in the center of town for some Retail Therapy at one of these shops:

Dinner on your own. After dinner we depart for one of the highlights of our journey: our private entrance inside the circle at Stonehenge, an auspicious opportunity and one that most people do not get to experience when visiting here. At this most powerful sacred site Andrea and Mark will faciliate our Sacred Ceremony and Meditation. (See below for more information)

There is much debate as to the age of Stonehenge, as well as who built it. According to many archaeologists, the builders of this magnificent site were the Ancient Britons. History says that the site was begun in the agricultural Neolithic Age and was completed in the Early Bronze Age by Beaker Folk, so called because of beakers, drinking vessels, found in their grave goods. Around 1500 BCE some disaster or systems collapse progressively brought the impressive Megalithic Age to an end, not only here, but throughout the whole of Britain and Ireland. Although we can never know exactly who the architects were who planned Stonehenge, the face sculptured into the side of trilithon stone 54 does give us cause to wonder if he or she was so influential that his/her facial features were placed here to be preserved forever as a representation of the Divine Marriage, the concept of Sacred Marriage between an Earth Mother and Sky Father, that was universal in early or primitive agricultural and Goddess-oriented societies. Those who are sensitive to this massive temple claim that the megalithic blocks are constantly radiating tremendous amounts of energy. Some say it is because the ancient Druids turned themselves into the stones, while others assert that they hold the power of innumerable Druid ceremonies held there in the past. One legend maintains that the massive blocks were brought from Ireland and set into place by the greatest Druid of them all - Merlin!

Day 4. Wednesday, July 23. Glastonbury Tor, Glastonbury Abbey, Free Time, Channeling Session, Evening Chalice Well Initiation Ceremony (B)
After an early breakfast we walk to mystical Glastonbury Tor, one of the world's prominent sacred sites, a portal to the famed land of The Mists of Avalon's priestesses. Rich in legend and mythological associations, Glastonbury Tor may have been a place of ancient ritual. Today, it is a popular destination for followers of the Goddess, as well as Holy Grail theorists, ley-line enthusiasts, and those of us who make the climb to enjoy its sweeping view of the Somerset countryside.

Though the Tor is a majestic hill rising enigmatically above the flat surrounding meadows, and it's no ordinary hill! Some say it's home to the King of the Fairies, Gwyn ap Nudd (and he likes visitors!). Centuries of legends and folklore have centered around the Tor, the heart of Glastonbury. They all arrive at the same conclusion - that the Tor is a place where the veil between the worlds is thin. Strange experiences and "meetings" here could be interpreted as a fairy, a nature spirit, or a manifestation of a "spirit" from the other realms. Not everyone has these experiences, but they have been regularly reported by many visitors, as well as the locals. One of the most intriguing of Glastonbury's mysteries are the colored balls of light that are frequently seen spiraling around the Tor. In 1970, a local police officer reported seeing eight egg-shaped objects "dark maroon in color, hovering in formation over the hill". In 1980 a witness saw "several green and mauve lights hovering around the tower, some smaller than others, about the size of beachballs and footballs."

What culture is responsible for building the terracing on the slopes of Glastonbury Tor? Geoffrey Russell first proposed that it is the remains of a great three-dimensional Neolithic labyrinth; this was expanded on by Geoffrey Ashe, the well-known Arthurian scholar. Many other researchers, as well as those of the Goddess Tradition believe it was a ceremonial way dedicated to the Goddess.

At the top of The Tor stands the remains of the Middle Aged St. Michel's Church, dedicated to Archangel Michael. Take time to gaze at the landscape; you can see for miles. Andrea and Mark will facilitate a meditation to connect to the powerful Goddess energies, as well as the Holy Grail, which some legends maintain is an actual object that is buried under or in the vicinity of the Tor. What aspect of the Grail will reveal itself to you?

We return walking to Glastonbury, where we visit Glastonbury Abbey, set in 37 acres of beautifully peaceful parkland in the center of town. Built in the Middle Ages, it is described by some historians as "the holiest place in all of England".
St Mary's Chapel marks the site where Joseph of Arimathea established the first above-ground church in all of Christendom. The story goes that the Celts had a deity named Easus who died and was supposed to come back to life. When they heard about Jesus from Joseph of Arimathea, they saw the return of Easus in the story, and gave Ynys Witrin, or Glastonbury, to him as a site for a church. This was the birthplace of Celtic Christianity, and grew to be a powerful pilgrimage site. Many people believe that the Holy Thorn tree that can be seen in the grounds originated from Joseph of Arimathea's staff. Graves thought to be those of Arthur and Guinevere have been unearthed here. We have time to wander among these ancient ruins and powerful energies, exploring their mysteries through reflection and meditation. Andrea and Mark will facilitate a ceremony and meditation to connect with these age-old energies and their long-held secrets.

Return walking (only a block!) to the heart of town for lunch on your own and some free time to explore more of Glastonbury.

In the later afternoon we meet back at our B and B for a Channeling Session with Andrea and the Kumaras regarding the Re-Emergence of the Divine Feminine within ourselves. Question and Answer session included, so bring your heartfelt questions.

After an early dinner on your own we return to the foot of the Tor for a private entrance into the Chalice Well, a pilgrimage site for many thousands of years for those seeking physical and emotional healing from its iron-red waters, thought by some to be the blood of Christ emerging from the hidden Grail Chalice. During the Middle Ages Glastonbury gained a great reputation as a place of healing, and the well was one of the centers where pilgrims came to take advantage of its curative powers. Even today the waters of both the Red Spring or Blood Spring at Chalice Well and the adjoining White Spring still have a reputation for their cleansing, healing and transformative qualities. Like pilgrims who have come here since ancient times seeking physical and emotional healing from its iron-red waters blessed by the Goddess, we too will receive our healings!

From the wellhead at the top of the garden, the first spot we reach when we enter at the bottom of the garden, we see the vesica pisces-shaped pool that has Chalice Well water flowing into it through a series of flowing steps from the body of the Goddess Herself. (You can purchase a small plastic bottle at the entrance gate to collect some of the healing waters). The vesica pisces is one of the most fundamental symbols of sacred geometry, symbolizing the Sacred Marriage, the divine union of the male and female energies. Here at this ancient sacred place, we have time to meditate at the well head to reflect on our own Divine Union. Koko Newport, a local Priestess of Avalon will offer our group a special initiation into the age-old Goddess Mysteries connected to this area, as she inducts us as Brothers and Sisters of Avalon.

Day 5. Thursday, July 24. Sharing Circle, Channeling Session, Free Time, Stanton Drew Stone Circle, Farewell Dinner (B/D)
After a later breakfast, we meet for our final Sharing Circle and another Channeling Session with Andrea and the Kumaras. Then you have free time for lunch on your own and possibly more time for exploring in Glastonbury.

We depart in the afternoon via motor coach to the huge megalithic complex of Stanton Drew. The Great Circle, the second largest English stone ring after the outer circle at Avebury, consists of three stone circles, two stone avenues, a cove of stones and an outlier. From the two visible circles there are two avenues running eastward towards the nearby river.

As Professor Aubrey Burl writes: Midsummer processions and ceremonies may be imagined, rituals by moonlight celebrated by hundreds of people from the countryside, assembling for reasons long forgotten but preserved silently in the stones themselves.
